Kourtney Kardashian has revealed exactly what she eats — and her diet may surprise you!!
The 40-year-old reality TV star has taken up the keto diet for the second time, according to a post she just published on her lifestyle website Poosh.
The reality TV star has arguably never looked this good, which is quite the achievement considering she’s got three children and just recently turned the big 4-0! But according to her blog post on Poosh, the credit for all of this goes to her strict and repetitive keto diet, where she allows herself to get enough nutrients without pushing her body too hard and caring for her general health all the while.
In the blog post, she wrote about her summer lifestyle right now, and how hard she’s worked to get there with her diet commitments (below):
“Sweet summertime is finally here. The sun is up, the sky is blue, and the kids are out of school. We wait all year for summer, and when it finally rolls around, I want to look and feel my best. And in my experience, I’ve found the best method to train my body to curb sugar cravings, burn fat, and kick-start weight loss is by sticking to a keto diet.”
To get to that ketogenic (or “keto”) diet, Kourt tries to eat foods that are low-carb, high-fat, and adequate protein; furthermore, the man goal of a food plan like this is to get more calories from protein and fat than from carbs — which has been a challenge at times for the mom of three.
Nevertheless, here is Kourt’s diet, in a nutshell (no pun intended, below):
Kourtney’s typical daily keto diet menu:
Breakfast: Avocado smoothie
Lunch: Salad with turkey, a base of mixed greens, and egg whites
Dinner: Chicken or salmon with cauliflower rice or broccoli rice
Snacks: Green tea, bone broth or nuts
The reality TV maven wrote more about the day to day reality of living on that meal plan, noting (below):
“It’s definitely a more restrictive eating plan, but I found that once I knew the ground rules, I was very strict and really stuck to it. My plan this time is to eat minimal carbs and no grains, beans, or legumes. I’m focusing my meals on fresh vegetables and lean proteins. I eat three meals a day with no snacking in between if possible.”
She goes on to further explain some inneresting things about her medical needs and lifestyle conditions that helped her jump on the keto diet — including a conversation with her doctor (below):
“Everybody is different, so I suggest consulting a doctor before jumping into new eating habits. I wanted to share why I’m restarting my keto journey and how I make it work for my lifestyle. He tested my muscles and found that I had high levels of mercury and lead in my system. He let me know that one of the fastest ways to detox was to keep my body in a state of ketosis. I had a really positive experience the last time around and wanted to restart my routine this summer.”
And it’s definitely working, for her at least!!!
