Facebook had a secret tool for tracking memes about the company

Facebook developed two secret tools to both track its public image and to combat hoaxes and memes targeting its company, Bloomberg reports. One of those tools, known as Stormchaser, was used by the social media giant to follow false information about its platform and even jokes about its founder. Since its deployment in 2016, Facebook has used the tool to track a wide array of content including posts that claim it listens to users through their phones and that company CEO Mark Zuckerberg is an alien. In certain cases, the company took action in order to stop the spread of hoaxes. Just one month before the 2016 U.S. presidential election, Facebook alerted users who spread a false claim that peoples …

For Black Women With Means, Money Isn’t The Only Barrier To Abortion Access

It is mostly women of color who will feel the impact of such bans, should these efforts take hold. Jim Breslo: Free health care will attract more illegal immigrants to California hitting taxpayers with bill

the governor said. “Health care shouldn’t be one more worry.” Reading between the lines, Newsom may have mentioned rent and student debt to signal that he will work to get new government assistance for those expenses in the future. That would preserve his far-left credentials. But here’s a big problem: The policy of expanded health insurance obviously incentivizes more illegal immigration into the U.S. It also incentivizes illegal immigrants in other states to come to California. Under the expanded Medi-Cal program for illegal immigrants, it doesn’t matter when the young migrants arrived in the U.S., how they arrived, or what they have done since arriving. A young person brought to the U.S. as a baby 20 years ago by his …

FDR had a military event, too

(CNN)Some time ago, I was surprised to learn that Donald Trump wanted a military parade in Washington like the one he’d seen in France, and I wrote the commentary below about his childish demand for a grandiose spectacle. This commentary first published February 7, 2018. “I want a parade like the one in France,” President Donald Trump reportedly said to a military official, who passed that information on to The Washington Post. Trump had been the guest of French President Emmanuel Macron on Bastille Day in July 2017, and after attending the parade he enthusiastically exclaimed that it was “one of the greatest parades” he’d ever seen. And so, he wanted to preside over an equally spectacular one in Washington …

It is difficult to predict when we will be able to safely resume operations but our patients’ safety is our priority and we will reopen our operating rooms when we are confident they are safe for patient care,” Bernal said. Aspergillus is a common …

3 Ways Weed Has Improved My Sex Life Betches

Here’s a very millennial humble-brag you probably haven’t heard before. While the idea of having sex without alcohol was once unthinkable, I now don’t like drunk sex much at all—but think high sex is completely incredible. In college (and I know I’m not alone in this), sober sex just never really happened. Being drunk nearly constantly didn’t help, but sex seemed like something you could only unlock after getting drunk and brave enough to meet up with someone. It was a way to pull back from the experience and be less aware of what was going on. I know this all sounds a little tragic, but hey—not all of us had fairytale romance in college. I had fun, I’m fine, and …
